Alan Prouty

Alan Prouty has been in the environmental field for over 20 years.  During this time he has worked in municipal wastewater treatment, various manufacturing industries (pulp and paper, forest products and inorganic chemicals), food processing and mining. His technical air quality experience includes air permitting experience, air dispersion modeling and air pollution control equipment design.  He has also worked with local and state governments on regional air quality plans for air quality problems and served as chairman of the Lewis-Clark Valley Air Quality Advisory Committee.

Prouty earned a Bachelor's degree in chemistry from Idaho State University and a Master's degree in forest products from the University of Idaho. Currently, Prouty is the Director of Environmental and Regulatory Affairs for the J.R. Simplot Company.  This includes permitting, addressing environmental issues, and participating in the development/change of environmental regulations at the state and federal levels.
