Rick Yzaguirre
Ada County Commissioner Rick Yzaguirre currently serves as Chairman of the Ada County Board of Commissioners. In 2004, Rick was re-elected to a four-year term on the commission. Prior to his re-election, he served a two-year term on the board, which began in January 2003.
Public service is nothing new to Yzaguirre. Before becoming an Ada County Commissioner, he devoted more than a decade of his life to serving the citizens of Eagle. Yzaguirre served as Eagle's Mayor from 1997 to 2003. Prior to that, he spent eight years on the Eagle City Council. His transition to Eagle City Hall was a natural progression from the many years he served as an Eagle Fire Commissioner, a commitment that began for Yzaguirre back in 1987. In addition to his service to the city of Eagle, Yzaguirre also held the title of President of the Association of Idaho Cities from 2001 to 2002. As Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, Yzaguirre currently holds several key leadership positions with many local agencies that are responsible for charting Ada County's future.
After graduating from Marsing High School, Yzaguirre graduated from Boise State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. Yzaguirre and his wife Sandy moved to Eagle in 1984 with their three daughters who have since grown up and started their own lives. In the spring of 2006, Yzaguirre proudly added 'grandfather' to his list of titles with the birth of his first grandson.
